Luke 23:27-31:\u00a0<\/strong>A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him. Jesus turned and said to them, \u201cDaughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children. For the time will come when you will say, \u2018Blessed are the childless women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!\u2019<\/p>\n Then \u201c \u2018They will say to the mountains, \u201cFall on us!\u201d and to the hills, \u201cCover us!\u201d \u2019<\/p>\n For if people do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?\u201d<\/p>\n Consider how those women wept with compassion at seeing Jesus in such a pitiful state, streaming with blood, weakened and scorned by onlookers as he walked along. Consider Jesus words, “Do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.”<\/p>\n Lord Jesus, I weep for the sorrows I have caused in my life and for the offenses I have committed against God. You have loved me so much; and it is that love that causes me to have such great sorrow for my sins.
